Children’s Rooms

Wantirna South Early Learning Centre is a brand new, state of the art long day care service with 7 separate children rooms offering child care to children aged 6 weeks to school age, incorporating a preschool program.

Our large, natural outdoor play space is separated into areas to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all children. All outdoor play spaces have plenty of protection from the sun, primarily through the many large trees that have been planted on and around the site, but also via the sails installed to cover the high use areas.

Through play babies explore and learn to understand the world around them as they come to communicate, discover, imagine and create.

When children develop trusting relationships from a very early age, they feel more confident and able to explore and learn.

Using the Early Years Learning Framework educators will observe your child’s learning so they can build on it and plan the next steps.  They will do this by listening, watching and talking to your child.

Educators encourage children to be open to new challenges and discoveries, as well as motivate and encourage children to succeed when they are faced with challenges.

Children show enthusiasm for participating in physical play and negotiate play spaces to ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others.

Children begin to engage in discussions about respectful and equal relations, as well as about their emotions and responses to events with a view to supporting their understandings of emotional regulation and self-control.

Educators will plan experiences and provide resources that broaden children’s perspectives and encourage an appreciation of diversity.

Student centred, self-directed, experiential learning journey in a relationship driven environment.

This stage is based on the principles of respect, responsibility and community through exploration and discovery through a self-guided curriculum.
